D-Day approaching

Well, I'm almost ready to start moving furniture. I have finished all the patching of the walls, save for two that needed entire new sections. But they're simple and won't affect my move timing. I have done the painting, the bathroom is nearly complete and just needs shelves and a curtain, the baseboards are all cut and half of them are nailed into place, and I'm almost finished the electrical! Tomorow I'm off to find myself a wardrop or something, since the huge room (26'X14') doesn't have a coset, and curtains.  Whew! This sure is a lot of work, but man is it going to be worth it!

Dreams

How messed up are dreams? I mean WOW, talk about freaky! I just woke up from a totally messed up dream. I'm standing on a slab of concrete in the middle of a park or something, with 3 steps leading from the slab to the grassy park. I look across the park and see 3 news people (a pretty female reporter and 1 male camera operator and 1 male assistant) following 3 Zebras, all headed straight to me. The Zebras were sort of half tame I guess, but the weird thing was that they were changing colour constantly! The literally glowed green/yellow/purple and as the colour shimmered in the light, it changed.  I knelt down as they approached (coming down from the road beside the park, into a small gully and then up the slope towards the concrete slab. Two of the zebra's came right up to me, while one hung back a bit. The one on my left let me try petting it's nose, and even sucked on my finger, While the one in front of me took a nip at my throat. It didn't really hurt, or do damage, just more of a "Hey, look at me!" kinda thing. The one on my right hung back and ate the grass. While this was going on, the news woman was saying that they were following the zebras and asked if I thought they'd let her touch them, or something to that effect.

Alright all you would be dream interpreters, go ahead and give t your best shot! I'm serious too, because I'm really interested in just what the hell my brain is trying to tell me with this one!

Titles suck

I hate trying to think of a title for each and every entry I write. I think I'm just going to start dating the entries and leave it at that. Yes, I know that this site already dates my entries, so what?

The plans for the big move...
So I have a completed layout of the new apartment that I created in an architectural program I have. Looks pretty good so far.  Looking everything over, I think I'll need about 1-2 hours worth of assistance from one person to get a few of the furniture pieces into the new place. It's a good thing I know how to enlist help (I have BEER!).  Loading up the truck from my current place will be a breeze since I have access to 4 furniture dollies. Those things have got to be the greatest invention for the moving industry.  Unfortunately, even furniture dollies won't help with stairs :-(

I gave my notice to the current landlords, dated August 31st. This will give me all the time I need to go in and paint/repair the new place, move in my stuff, and clean up the old place.

Another fine day...

Well the lease is now signed and I took measurements so I can plan everything out properly. I’ve already started packing LMAO!

Check it out, this is CRAZY!!!

Kitchen/Dining: 11’x16’ (176 sq. feet)

Living Room: 11.5’x15’ (172 sq. feet)

Bedroom: 10’x 14’ (140 sq. feet)

Laundry: 5’x 5’ (25 sq. feet)

Computer room/Studio: 26’ x 12’ (312 sq. feet!)

Work area: 10’ x 7.5’ (75 sq. feet)

Storage: 8’ x 3’ (24 sq. feet)

Open space: 7’ x 8’ (56 sq. feet)

Closet space total: 100 sq. feet

So let’s see... yeah that’s 1080 square feet of apartment. I don’t think I could be much happier about the room I’m going to have to play with. I did hint to the owner that I’d sure be interested in the upstairs though, should it become available. By hint, I mea that I said, “Hey, if the upstairs becomes available, I want it!” J

Other news:

I sliced my finger to the bone today, helping Angela with building a vent board to place in her patio door for her new air conditioner. Oh well, it was worth a little pain to see her so excited about actually getting cool air, hehehe.

I see I’ve made it up over 1400 visits. Not too bad since this is just a plain old boring site.

Thanks to everyone who visited, and will visit though. I do appreciate the comments J

That’s it for now. TTYL!

YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Hmm...I wonder why the title of this entry makes it look like I'm excited or something.

BECAUSE I AM!

I found a really great place! Ok, it's not 100% perfect, but it's far better than the place I'm in. 1100sq feet in a house  for $825/month in the lower mainland.

About it: well…the reason it's not really 100% is just because it's a basement suite. I was hoping to get something above ground, but oh well... this place makes up for it. It's a 2 bedroom, one room is a very decent size and the other is HUGE. No wait, meant MASSIVELY HUGE. I'm going to convert it into a computer room/photo studio it's so damned huge! Nice open area kitchen and eating area, an okay size living room, in suite laundry provided (stacked washer dryer), fireplace, tons of storage space and even an area to use as a workspace for my miniature painting hobby. Yes, all in all a pretty cool deal I should think. I'm going to keep my eyes and ears open for the upstairs though, it's even better!

I'm going over to sign the lease today and take some measurements so I can effectively plan the layout of my furniture. I hate people that wait until it's all moved in and then decide where to put stuff. I'll map it all out on the computer, then I can move furniture as I please until I think I've used the space as wisely as possible while keeping in mind how it will look once it's moved into. Then when I move in, things will go where they are supposed to and it'll be quick and easy and painless.

Wow

Talk about LAZY! Sheash....

Ok, an update real fast:
1. Went to Newfoundland and took a short (2 day) layover in New Brunswick to visit the Mom. She was cool! Stayed at the Rockin' Uncle's place Met his wonderful wife and had a fabulous time. Ate clams, lobster rolls, and had a damned good time. The Reaper Man rocks!

2. Frakking building super is annoying as hell! Tried to evict me bacause I forgot to turn off my ALARM CLOCK for 20 minutes. Like, EXCUSE ME for needing to wake up in the morning. Of course he failed. Arbitrator saw in my favour.

3. Looking for a new place anyways. Tired of living with this nonsense. Saw a great place yesterday and left and application, but I don't know if I will get it.

Ok, now that we're all caught up, let's see if I can't keep it that way :-)

See Ya!

Been a While

Wow, January 10 was my last update? Been quite a while since I had the time to write I guess.

So what's happening? Well I have a new PC, that's taking a huge amount of time transferring all my settings and files over to. Work has been crazy crazy, year end, new hires, etc.... Have a cold, been trying to get the energy to clean up this place. Waiting for the liquid sunshine to give way to the real stuff.

That's about all the brain can recall at this point, I'll make more effort to get back to proper entries and more entertaining things when I'm over this cold.

bye!

Why can't life always be funny?

A 6-year old and a 4-year old are upstairs in their bedroom. "You know what?" says the 6-year old. "I think it's about time we started cussing."
The 4-year old nods his head in approval. The 6-year old continues, "When we go downstairs for breakfast, I'm gonna say something with 'hell' and you say something with 'ass'. The 4-year old agrees with enthusiasm.
When their mother walks into the kitchen and asks the 6-year old what he wants for breakfast, he replies, "Aw, hell, Mom, I guess I'll have some Cheerios."
WHACK! He flies out of his chair, tumbles across the kitchen floor, gets up and runs upstairs crying his eyes out with his mother in hot pursuit, slapping his rear with every step. His mom locks him in his room and shouts, "You can just stay there until I let you out!"
She then comes back downstairs, looks at the 4-year old and asks with a stern voice, "And what do YOU want for breakfast, young man?"
"I don't know," he blubbers, "but you can bet your ass it won't be Cheerios!"

The just DO prevail!

Well, today was my day in court and I am SOOOOO happy! I didn't get thousands of dollars, but I did get justice. The Supreme Court of British Columbia has found that the original Arbitrator's order was VALID and they have also found that the refusal of the application for review was also valid. In short, I WIN!

Ok, now the whole story for those of you who aren't clued into everything.
1) in August, I went away for a few days and forgot to turn off my alarm clock. It went off at about 7 or 8 am for the few days I was gone, and like any and nearly ALL other alarm clocks, it goes off for about an hour (59 minutes to be exact). Day 4 of my being away, the manager TURNED OFF MY ELECTRICITY. Not off and on, but just OFF. 13 hours later I get home and find this out. I'm a little pissed here because I have several computers working 24/7 for work related functions. I complained and he swore not to do it again, I dropped the issue (yeah I know... my bad!).
2. in October it happened again, just ONCE and the manager entered my suite this time, and turned it off, and in the process he stepped on my Blackberry 7250! Yes, he broke it, and when I confronted him that day, he denied it. Well pal, it's only you and me with a key and I sure as hell didn't do it, so guess what!?
3. Since he refused to pay to replace it, I took the issue to the Arbitrator at the Residential Tenancy Office and he never showed. I won!
4. He requested a review saying he didn't get notice until after the hearing. Not my problem pal, you were served a delivery notice of the registered letter (Arbitration package) a FULL WEEK before the hearing.   The Arbitrator agreed and said "Nope, you still lose!" (she used legal words though)
5. He filed to have a Judicial Review" in the Supreme Court of BC of the Arbitrator's decision and he LOST out there too!

HA!!! I WIN!!!

What did I win? Well, I didn't get wads of cash  I'm sorry to say, just the replacement cost of the device he broke. But what I did get felt almost as good, let me tell you! I felt GREAT knowing that jerks like him CAN'T get away with this kind of crap!

PEACE!

I'm just taking a quick breather between bouts in the kitchen. Let's see... there's a big fat Christmas Goose cooking, and a smal turkey as a back-up (In case my skills have left me and I have forgotten how to make the best goose in the world) there's roasted butter yams, asparagus, stuffing, turnips, beets, snacks ( I kan't spell horsederves hahahah!), GRAVY!, corn, and about 5 other things that have left my memory for the time being. WOW, I'm cooking WAY too much!. Oh, and beer! I'm not cookign that though, just drinking it!.

Anyways, I'll be back later, after dinner and prezzies!

Oh Happy Days!

Well, if it isn't just one happy moment after another!

I got a package handed to me today by my building manager. He's taking me to court because he didn't like what the Arbitrator had to say. YAY ME!

I don't know how much or how little I can say at this stage, since it is a court case and it is still pending, I'm guessing that I can't say too much.

Suffice it to say, I and many others (we talked before I was handed the court documents) think I am right.  So I am going to have go into The Supreme Court of British Columbia now, and convince the Judge to inform my building manager that he's wrong and maybe a little more.

Just wanting to keep you up to date, without putting myself into a pile of poo. Sorry for the lack of info, but I don't know teh rules for this type of thing and think it's better safe than sorry.

Oh, and if there are any lawyers or close to it type of peopel reading this, PLEASE let me know, I could use just 5 minutes of your volunteered time! No REALLY!

Gotta love Christmas right? (rant)

Well, here it is...the "Holliday Season", and of course everyone is in the Christmas spirit, being nice to each other, feeling loved and being happy right?

WRONG!

Let's see...how would you describe the following scene? You decide to attend your company Christmas dinner, and even bring a guest. While standing and mingling about, you chat with this person or that person, introduce your guest, have a few chit chatty conversations, etc. Then someone announces that it's time to be seated, so you take your seat and watch as the others do the same. Let’s see…something like 50-60 people, 9 tables ranging from 5 to 8 seats. Hmm...I'll pick the table for 6 by the waterfall, since it's pretty and adds to a nice dinner atmosphere. Wow, first people to sit down. Well someone has to be first right? Tick-tock tick-tock. Hmm...What’s this, everyone has finished getting seated and the waiter is taking orders. That's ok we'll just occupy ourselves with a little conversation between colleagues here at the table, make introductions, etc. ... Hmmm, that's going to be difficult since...

NOT EVEN ONE DAMNED PERSON SAT WITH US!

What a bunch of arrogant, IGNORANT sub-humans I work with! I have never been so humiliated in my entire life.

Ok, being in IM/IT I am used to a certain level of the us/them attitude, but you know what? This really crossed the line with me. I am absolutely furious. To think that I actually call these people colleagues!

Oh, my bad, I must offer my deepest heart felt appreciation for ONE person who actually noticed we were sitting alone (shunned by everyone, as though we had the avian flu or something!), and came to join us. He get's any damned IT related toy/service he wants as far as I'm concerned, and the rest will be lucky to have replacement gear in the next 6 years!

So we finish up our dinner, I pay the bill (yeah, that's right, government employees in Canada don't get real company Xmas dinners/party, WE have to pay for our own). We thank the fellow that was so kind and gracious to offer his company to us while everyone else shunned us, and head for the door. We're stopped by one of the bosses and get "You're leaving? Don't you want to stay for the fun?" FUN?! Are you stupid, or BLIND, or maybe just as IGNORANT as everyone else? Never mind, I know the answer already. Go to hell! I'd rather go play cards and have a damned beer than hang around with these jerks! It's much more fun and I feel GOOD and make others feel GOOD while doing so!

Will I ever attend another work function? HELL NO!

Comments welcome, but I warn you.. do not bother trying to justify their unacceptable behaviour, nor tell me "don't take it personally" because the only way for it to have been any more personal is to have been physically slapped across the face as opposed to the figurative slap they all gave my guest and me.

Oh and if anyone from work is reading this...I wonder how it feels to get a good look at the way you treat others? Do you get off on thinking you're better than someone else, even though it is very obvious that you're not? I also wonder what it's like to know that your ignorance is now on display for anyone that reads this? Oh and one final word to you if you are employed by the same organization as I am, do NOT bother saying annthing to me about this event, I swear I will go absolutely postal on your ass! Have a pleasant holliday, and here's hoping you're visited by every single ghost of Christmas that there ever was!

Once I recover from this pathetic event, I plan on having a great Christmas. I also hope that everyone in this world has an awesome holliday and never has to put up with the crap I just experienced.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

YAY ME!

Well, it's less than I'd hoped for, and more than I could expect.  Perseus (my wolf tattoo) is right there in full colour on Tattoodles' main page! YAHOO!!! unfortunately, when I log in, my sweet sweet wolf vanishes and is replaced by other art from Rob Hope. it's ok, even though my tattoo isn't featured in the set included in his interview, I'm happy that he got the interview and the recognition he deserves. Am I pissed that mine is not the only tattoo of his that was featured? Hell no! But I would certainly have liked to be included in the photo set of the interview and not just the tiny little image on the main page.

Oh well.... I'll just have to look for my 15 minutes of fame elsewhere I guess.

LATER!
11月22日

Great News!

Well, I think it's great, anyways!

I got a call from my tattoo artist. It turns out he was interviewing for an article in Tattoodles Online magazine and wanted to know if I was willing to have Perseus put on display.
What do you think I said?

HELL YA!!!

So, sometime soon, expect to see an article in Tattoodles (that's www.tattoodles.com) and if I'm really lucky, my photo will be featured in it too!

HELL YA!!!

11月21日

Yeah, I know

Ok so it took a little bit longer than I had hoped to collect all the pictures from teh party goers, but I finially did it, trimmed some crap, picked teh top 1/3 of the pictures and piled them all in here for everyone to see....but at least I got it done!

Damn we had a great night that night.. well most of it, but that's another story...

Oh, and there was a minor layout change too...did ya even notice?

SWEET!

The Wolf

Ok, so a large umber of people just don't get it.  Well, here it is in full colour. The who, the why, the what, the everything, in one simple expression...

THIS IS THE WOLF!

Ok, since people don't seem to read comments, I'll just copy it here:

FYI: Yes it is a REAL tattoo! It took 37.5 hours to complete, was done by Rob Hope of Dutchman Tattoos in New Westminster BC. He (Perseus is his name) was born (completed) on February 2nd 2004. That makes his birthday 7 days before mine, and we prefer seperate birthday parties and gifts!

Holliday cooking for dummies!

BAKED STUFFED TURKEY

12-15 lb. Turkey
2 cup melted butter
4-6 cups stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good)
1 cup unpopped popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT)
Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper.
Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn.
Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.
Listen for the popping sounds.
When the turkey's ass blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room, it's done.

And you thought I couldn't cook!

Oh, and to "AKABand" who posted a comment in my previous blog entry... Dude, if I don't get free tickets and drinks, what's in it for me?

Gas!!!!

Ok, F-OFF with the gas prices already! It reached $1.13/litre today for crap sakes!
-----------------------------------------------
***UPDATE***

Gas reached $1.18.9 today

----------------------------------------------

I can no longer afford to drive for pleasure at this rate, and cheaper (hybrid) fuel cars cost too damned much to make it any better.  I might have to change careers and find a home job or one much much much closer to home just to afford to EAT!. Damned gas companies and lazy assed governments! Stop yapping about investigating price gouging and F-ing DO IT! And don't you damned well take any kick-backs to pretend it doesn't happen, we're not MORONS! (well unless you count the fact that we elected your sorry asses into office)
